   It just hits you in the head like some kind of out of massive out of tune gong . . .but strangely I can’t stop listening to it.

   Ouch! So what would you suggest to correct this if it happens in your praise service? Stop…then try again with everyone cued into the same key?

   Sounds like a “capo induced malfunction.” When that happens the band needs to stay out until they figure out the new key and can enter with confidence. More rehearsal usually helps avoid this kind of scenario… but not always.

   If you have a large-print set-list that you use, you can always add a symbol for “remove capo.” That could help eliminate future foul-ups.

   Lack of excellence (and lack of preparation) ruins Worship moments.

   This happened a while back with another worship leader on our team… We just stopped and started again… but praise God… people responded with more joy in their hearts that we were still human after all…
   but yes it sounds like a capo induced problem as Allan states…
   tip: know exactly what key the song is in…and if it sounds strange…look at the leaders fingers either on keyboard or guitar neck and work it out if you can…
