These look great and we already use quite a few of these songs in worship.

Andy and all the folks at Musicademy: I can’t wait to get my hands on this to try it out! I have a question for you, and please forgive if this has already been asked and answered.

It occurs to me to ask: how will users know what ‘arrangement’ to use? Not in terms of the order of verse, chorus, bridge and so forth but the actual chords your musicians are playing? We use a lot of lead sheets/charts from CCLI but I am well aware that people play songs slightly differently; the CCLI charts are not always the same as other published versions of the same song. Obviously not playing the same chords as are on the tracks could lead to some ‘interesting’ sounds.

That said, I am eager to give this a try.

Will there be many “traditional” hymns included? There are some older members of my congregtion who are familiar w/and really love the songs in the hymnals. We are a very small (so far) church, and I am the only musician/singer leading worship, & I would love to have this resource to do hymns with.

    Hi Kirby
At the moment we have focused on the harder to play more contemporary songs, because that’s what many small bands struggle with, but yes, we will certainly be adding hymns as the catalogue grows.
However because this is a band resource, the tricky thing is to work out which hymns small churches would actually want to play with a band that they can’t already handle with just a piano or organ etc. food for thought.
If anyone would like to let us know what they would use and which hymns they would like please comment below

    Hi Ken

Our tracks have been recorded with pretty standard arrangements so as long as you get a chord chart in the right key from a decent source (i.e. not from a user generated guitar tab type website) then you should be fine. But yes I agree, even with CCLI type charts there can be anomalies especially where more than once arrangement with different intros, links etc is in vogue.
So that said, whilst we aren’t licensed to produce charts right now we can certainly provide a few ‘crib notes’ on some of those songs that have tricky bits if customers cant work those out from a chart themselves.

Look forward to hearing about your experiences when you try the player

    Andy

Multi track sounds ideal for our worship situation (small church with one or two players). Question I am interested in on screen music for guitar which can be changed controlled by foot pedal like ‘Power Music’ which we started using. Is that facility being included in Multi track or are you thinking of a product similar to work along side Multi track? Many thanks for your work I have bought a number of products.

    Hi Justin
Should be within the next week or two. Just putting the finishing touches to the website. The good news is that we should now be able to launch with a Mac as well as PC version.

    Hi

With regards to the song list, can you provide some idea of how quickly you intend to grow the catalogue ie will it be one track a week or one a month? What are your current thourghts? The more i have looked at this site the more excited I am.

    David

The song list is likely to grow in batches as we’ll commission a large bunch to be recorded and uploaded at the same time. As has been said already we are going to concentrate on the CCLI top 100 then different genres like kids and choral.

Will it be possible to buy all the songs (i.e. the 100) at a discount price?

Also, what about all-age worship songs like Creator God (Nick and Becky Drake) – any plans to do a couple of those?

    Hi Glyn
We’ll have a range of bulk buy discounts. The biggest quantity discount is x40 but you can apply that more than once. We will be adding new songs as the weeks go by anyway.
And in terms of timescale, we really hope to be live with a beta version this week. We won’t publicise it widely just because we need to check that the store and checkout processes are working, and also to see what feedback we get on the player from real customers (we may want to make a few early modifications/fixes). So keep an eye on http://www.worshipbackingband.com and be an early customer. If you beta people get any problems of course we would fix/refund etc!
