Exciting News! New Learn to Play by Ear DVDs coming soon!

By Andy@Musicademy | September 27, 2011

Play-by-ear

We’re just putting the finishing touches to our new set of DVDs called Learn to Play by Ear and Understand Chords

Over the years at Musicademy we’ve noticed that one of the primary skills worship band musicians lack is how to work out what chord is coming next in a song, by ear on the fly, without a chart or sheet music. We’ve also come across so many worship leaders that would really benefit from a deeper understanding of how chords work so they can be better equipped to communicate music to their band, arrange, transpose (put songs in different keys) transcribe (work out a song from hearing a CD), and even write songs that don’t just rely on the same old chord sequences.

So with that in mind we’ve spent the last year putting together a really comprehensive multi-DVD course that will take any musician even with zero chord knowledge through a step by step process that will give them the tools to be able to identify chords in any song in any major or minor key, by ear. We’ll even go into deeper stuff like different types of minor keys, finding and understanding chords outside the key and even chord substitutions for playing in different styles.

Sound interesting? Click through to the website to find out more.

If you aren’t on our email list simply sign up in the left hand column here to receive our Worship Newsletter. Then you’ll be the first to hear of when the new DVDs are released.
