Calling all electric guitarists! Would you buy this new product?
We need your help in deciding whether to produce a new product for electric and acoustic guitarists.
Picture the scenario, you’re doing a new song and the worship leader sends you a reference track mp3 but its really hard to decipher how many layers of guitar parts there are, let alone what each guitar part is doing.
So would you like the individual guitar stems from our Worship Backing Band multitracks on separate mp3 stems alongside a full version of the song so you can clearly and easily hear what each guitar is playing?
You could play the mp3’s individually or layer them up them in any free multitrack music software like Garageband so you can see how the parts fit together alongside the full song.

5 mixes

The idea is we would give you up to 5 separate mp3 mixes of the same song. Listen to the 30 second examples below:

1 Full song mix (full band stems inc vocals)

But can’t you already do that and more in the Worship Backing Band player?

Yes you can – you can solo, loop and even slow down the guitar parts to all of the worship backing band tracks within our existing worship backing band player, BUT, as it’s aimed at small churches we tend to find most musicians won’t invest in it as a practice tool.
The player stands at £35/$49 and multitrack 14 stem songs range from £9/$13 down to £5/$9 depending on how many songs you buy in a bundle. We think this is really great value for small churches but we could give guitar players just their own parts on mp3 even more cost effectively if there is a demand for them.

Great Value

So would you buy the 5 mp3 stems as pack for each song and if so what would you consider a reasonable price to pay for those? (e.g. intunes charges £.079/$0.99 per individual mp3)
BUT  – The big question is, is the audio enough or do you need video too?
If we give you the individual guitar parts on mp3, do you have the have the skills to working out where and how those parts are being played OR do you also need some instructional video tutorials showing the finger positions, notes played and amp tones and effects used?
If we were to create a video product alongside, it would be more likely 10 songs on DVD or download with those mp3’s plus short instructional video segments for each showing you exactly how and where each part is played. Those techniques are all on our Intermediate Electric Guitar course anyway but we suspect some of you might want those techniques shown in detail for specific songs.
So what do you think? Potential product options are:
  • ‘All guitar parts’ audio only mp3’s for a range of songs – priced per song with ‘bulk pack’ discount options
  • 10 song ‘all guitar parts’ audio mp3’s + video instructional tutorials DVD or download course
