Newsletter - 29 May 2009

By Marie Page | May 29, 2009

I emailed out our newseltter (which is really just a summary of blog posts from the last week or so over the last two days) and we’ve had so many comments on the blog. Lots of debate on the rights and wrongs of encouraging clapping and banner waving in church. Really interesting to see how on the one hand we love to be inclusive and encourage people to be more abandoned in worship but on the other as musicians how frustrated we can get when they don’t clap in time!

Anyway, the newsletter itself is below. Click through on anything you fancy reading about. I’ll post Chico’s “Things that Frustrate Worship Leaders part 2″ soon.

Our new worship backing band DVDs are selling well. They come with projected onscreen words and loads of play lists for churches and housegroups and with the addition of onscreen chords for musicians. Feedback to date has been what great value they are for 54 high quality tracks - and lots of orders from churches who don’t have a worship leader for this Sunday!

Click below for the latest from the Musicademy blog:

  • What pedals do I need to get started in a worship band - part 2
  • Free video clip on using orchestral instruments in worship
  • People that frustrate worship leaders - part 1
  • Creative ideas on song writing
  • Ask the Expert - Is burning CDs from itunes legal when its for educational purposes?
  • Another guest post from Jonny Baker with a worship idea for communion as an act of protest - Not in my name
  • And a rockumentary from the David Crowder Band
