Chord of the Month – Dsus2 new shape

Every month I’ll show you a (hopefully) new shape to a familiar chord that you can use to expand your vocabulary. To kick off, try this voicing instead of a regular D or the more familiar D2/Dadd9 shape you may know.

D Chord with no 3rd and a 9th (or is it a 2nd?!)
Can be used instead of D or as even a substitute over A5
Avoiding 3rds creates sparseness / drama / tension
