We published a script telling the nativity story with chocolate<\/a> (now featuring a version with American chocolates<\/a>)\u00a0before Christmas and then came across this rather wonderful retelling of the Prodigal Son. Its written by writer Andy Back and you can see the original and more of his writings on his website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Prodigal Confectioner<\/strong><\/p>\n

Once upon a time, a farmer had two sons.<\/p>\n

One of them was a \"\"<\/p>\n

Smartie <\/strong>and good looking. His hair was \"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Curly Wurly <\/strong>with \"\"<\/p>\n

Highlights<\/strong>,although he was slightly Flake<\/strong>y.\"\"<\/p>\n

He said to his dad with a Wispa <\/strong>(photo not available) \u2018I\u2019d like<\/p>\n

to talk to you about a certain<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Topic<\/strong>. I feel my life could do with a<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Boost<\/strong>, so give me my inheritance.\u2019<\/p>\n

His dad tried to<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fudge<\/strong>. \u2018You want half of my money?\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018Yes, Pa,\u2019 replied the son, \u2018and half of<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mars<\/strong>.\u2019<\/p>\n

Eventually the father agreed, and handed over all his<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bounty. <\/strong>The son did up his Buttons<\/strong>,<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

put on his<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Snickers<\/strong>,<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

(actually it was a pair of Snickers), left the farm<\/p>\n

and went off to spend his dad\u2019s fortune. He took a<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Picnic<\/strong> and walked, not waiting for a<\/p>\n

Green & Black (photo not available) Double Decker<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t long before he found himself in a large city,<\/p>\n

in a superb shopping Mall, known as<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Quality Street<\/strong>, where some people mocked<\/p>\n

and made fun of the shops. They were known as<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Malteasers<\/strong>. The farmer\u2019s son also visited a night club where they played music by<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

M&M<\/strong> and there were<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Minstrels<\/strong> playing<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tunes<\/strong> while customers played<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Skittles. <\/strong>There were also female dancers known as the<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Turkish Delights,<\/strong> and some of them would<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Twirl<\/strong>, while others had tummys that could<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ripple<\/strong>. The son enjoyed all these<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Revels<\/strong>, and soon his money was spent.<\/p>\n

His friends were gone and so was his livelihood.<\/p>\n

He finished up as a<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Drifter<\/strong>, and took a job working on a pig farm. It was<\/p>\n

run by a moaning, complaining old woman who had<\/p>\n

no teeth, and she was known as<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wine Gums<\/strong>. The boy had to<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lion<\/strong> the ground to sleep, making his pillow from<\/p>\n

leafy branches with not too many<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Twix<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

He was peckish and got the<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Munchies<\/strong> and ended up longing to<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Chomp<\/strong> on the pig\u2019s food, which was \"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Crunchie<\/strong>. But obviously he had to \"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Chewitt.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Eventually he came to his Senses (photo not available).<\/strong><\/p>\n

He looked up at the<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Milky<\/strong> Way<\/strong> (oh, no, sorry)<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Milky Way<\/strong> and the Planets<\/strong> (photo not available) <\/strong>and the<\/p>\n

Galaxies<\/strong> beyond and repented of his sin.<\/p>\n

When he got home, his father forgave him,<\/p>\n

welcomed him and decided to have a<\/p>\n

Celebration<\/strong>, but his older brother was a right<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n
