Surrendered Part 1 –\u00a0Surrendered to God<\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

No doubt you\u2019ve heard about the challenge given to D.L. Moody: “It remains to be seen what God will do with a man who gives himself up wholly unto Him.” (or some variation of\u2026) And Moody\u2019s answer was basically \u201cI\u2019ll be that man.\u201d And he was. We usually hear this exchange in a sermon about surrender. The problem is the preacher doesn\u2019t tell us that this falls in the category of \u201cWAY easier said than done.\u201d<\/p>\n

A mentor once said to me, \u201cone of the beautiful things about following Christ is that it\u2019s daily. And one of the most frustrating things about following Christ is that it\u2019s daily.\u201d The new mercies (Lam. 3) of God can\u2019t be experienced fully without a new day\u2019s surrender. (1 Cor 15:31\/Rom 12:1) Sure, there are a few things that I\u2019ve surrender once for all (by God\u2019s grace), but I have to give up my pride, agenda, sin, etc. every day.<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t exclusive for worship musicians. But consider that the responsibility of worship musician as a leader\/teacher (see bonus) leader\/teacher. But it\u2019s ultimately about loving Jesus more than music or ministry. And the surrender into Jesus\u2019 arms each day is a real good start.<\/p>\n

Read Lamentations 3:22-26.<\/h2>\n
22 Because of the LORD\u2019s great love we are not consumed,<\/div>\n
for his compassions never fail.<\/div>\n
23 They are new every morning;<\/div>\n
great is your faithfulness.<\/div>\n
24 I say to myself, \u201cThe LORD is my portion;<\/div>\n
therefore I will wait for him.\u201d<\/div>\n
25 The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him,<\/div>\n
to the one who seeks him;<\/div>\n
26 it is good to wait quietly<\/div>\n
for the salvation of the LORD.<\/div>\n

Because of the LORD\u2019s great love we are not consumed,\u00a0for his compassions never fail.<\/p>\n

They are new every morning;\u00a0great is your faithfulness.<\/p>\n

The LORD’s kindness never fails!\u00a0If he had not been merciful,\u00a0we would have been destroyed.<\/p>\n

The LORD can always be trusted\u00a0to show mercy each morning.<\/p>\n

Deep in my heart I say,\u00a0“The LORD is all I need;\u00a0I can depend on him!”<\/p>\n

The LORD is kind to everyone\u00a0who trusts and obeys him.<\/p>\n

It is good to wait patiently\u00a0for the LORD to save us. (CEV)<\/p>\n
