Called to ministry\u2026<\/div>\n
\u2026 isn\u2019t a matter of desire. Just because I WANT to sing, or play or lead doesn\u2019t mean I should.<\/div>\n
\u2026isn\u2019t about talent or gifting.<\/div>\n
\u2026isn\u2019t permanent. We don\u2019t own our position on the team. Andy Stanley says it best \u2013 \u201cLeadership is a stewardship. It is temporary\u2026\u201d We need to hold our positions in an open hand \u2013 allowing God to give more or take away.<\/div>\n
\u2026prepares for a subsequent calling. Time spent on a worship team is training grounds for something more. Also, people may need an additional training ground before they can join the team.<\/div>\n
\u2026implies an invitation. If no one invited me, I\u2019m at the wrong party. That doesn\u2019t mean I shouldn\u2019t seek an invitation if I feel called. But in the end, if none is given, I need to determine if it\u2019s a \u201cNo\u201d, a \u201cNot Right Now\u201d, or a \u201cNot Right Here.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u2026is affirmed by peers and confirmed by leadership.<\/div>\n

Jesus Calls His First Disciples<\/strong><\/p>\n

As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. \u201cCome, follow me,\u201d Jesus said, \u201cand I will send you out to fish for people.\u201d At once they left their nets and followed him.
\nGoing on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.<\/em><\/p>\n
