Ask the Expert – How to get the Line6 Pod HD500 to do dotted eighth delays?

Brad Schlievert asked a question about the Line 6 Pod HD 500 on our recent live Ask the Expert seminar:

“I have a question, about the Line 6 Pod HD 500 and dotted eighth delays. With my Boss dd20 I can select dotted eighth under tempo and set the delay time separately, does the POD HD500 do this also? and how? thanks”

Andy Chamberlain, Musicademy:

Hi Brad. Yes I know for a fact that the HD500 can do a dotted 8th but I don’t know how as I’ve not used one personally. That said there must be something on youtube or their forums I would expect.

Rich Renken, Line6:

Yes, on the HD500 on the delays, just turn the time parameter all the way past 2000ms and it changes to note value. You do the same thing with almost any of the Mods and Filters, you turn the speed all the way up and it changes to note value for Tap.

Brad Schlievert:

I use HD500 Edit. I figured that out, I just got my HD500 (PTL!!!) a couple days ago, it’s absolutely great, however Line6 needs to make a firmware update for source select, everything defaults to guitar/aux ect for source 1 and source 2 defaults…

On a line6 HD500, can I output a mono xlr at one venue, change to a mono quarter inch output at another venue, and back to a stereo xlr output at a third venue?

Rich Renken Yes, you stereo patches will obviously be mono coming out of one output.

I agree
