Praise and Worship Backing Track Super Chord Charts
Our new Worship Backing Band MultiTrack Player and the simpler SplitTrack video downloads are selling really well. Inevitably we’ve had lots of people asking for chord charts. With so many free (read “illegal”) chord charts on the internet, often with inaccurate chords and different arrangements to our backing tracks we wanted to create chord charts woth some great additional content.
What’s wrong with traditional chord charts?
Most chord charts don’t give you enough information. They are OK as a guide if your musicians know the song really well but what about the structure of the song? When does the double chorus happen? What about the arrangement when the drums drop out for two bars on verse 3? How do we communicate that? What about the bars and how do the musicians know when to change chord, especially if they haven’t got a full score or if they don’t read music? How do we know which chord to end on? What about the strumming pattern, or the drum groove? And what about if it’s played in a guitar unfriendly key and they need to transpose it for a capo? And are the chord charts you are using even legal?
We’ve addressed all those issues in our brand new concept the “Super” Chord Chart.
Each Super Worship Chord Chart features:
- The entire song on a single sheet (a second complete sheet for capo chords)
- The song title, key and capo fret positioning
- Each song part clearly divided into easy-to-follow sections
- Bar lines between words
- Exact intro and outro sequences
- A breakdown and map of the song structure
- Notes on when instruments drop in and out
- Chord diagrams of recommended chord shapes that sound best with that song
- A rhythm guide complete with acoustic guitar strumming pattern, bass groove and drum groove
Chord charts are currently available for:
- Above All
- Amazing Grace
- A New Hallelujah
- Breathe
- Desert Song
- Everlasting God
- Here I Am To Worship
- Holy Is The Lord
- Immanuel
- Jesus Messiah
- Love Come Down
- Our God
- The Stand
- You Never Let Go
Depending on your feedback and sales levels we will make more chord charts available in due course. Please let us know what you think of them. They are a lot of work to produce – time we could spend on other projects – so we only want to continue with these if you genuinely find them useful.
Why are you charging for our chord charts?
Whilst the internet is awash with free chord charts they are often wrong and very basic. With a few exceptions these online charts are also breaking copyright law. We are charging for our chord charts for two reasons. Firstly, we have to pay the original songwriter/publisher a fee for each chart downloaded. Secondly, we’ve crammed LOADS of extras into our charts including chord shapes, strumming pattern, song pathway, bar lines, full words and more. Some of the songs are in different keys to the usual recordings (we try to ensure the keys are nice and “congregational”) and some of the arrangements are a little different to some that you might be familiar with. We hope you feel that they are value for money.
You can find more information and download the chord charts on the Worship Backing Band website.

How about letting us have one for free so we can really see what is so super. Hard to see from the small photo.
Yes to previous comment! I agree it is hard to really tell from the picture. Would be nice to try it out first. Thanks!
Absolutely agree – a proper sample is essential, so we can make a decision. I’m surprised you launched without one!
OK folks. We get the point. We’ve sold loads of these since launching so I guess a lot of people are happy to buy from the
thumbnail image.
The reason we haven’t launched with a free sample is that it’s simply not legal for us to do so. We have to pay royalties for each chart downloaded.
We’ll talk to our designer about trying to come up with a template that shows you the detail without effectively giving the word/chord sequence away (i.e. the copyrighted part). He’s on holiday at the moment so this will probably be a couple of weeks.
You could find yourself a Public Domain song that is generally used in churches – off the top of my head, how about ‘I stand amazed’, ‘O come let us adore Him’, or ‘How great Thou art’? That way, there’s a free sample that can actually be used within a real-life situation.
The image shown looks good though!
Good idea but we need to use songs we have MultiTracks for! How Great Thou Art is actually not public domain despite it being relatively old.
We’ll work something up and disguise the chords.
They are really good and we’ve had some great feedback on them so in the meantime I don’t think you will be disappointed if you do decide to risk £1.99 / $2.49!
Do these charts come free with the purchase of the same MultiTrack song? I actually cannot even figure out how to buy a Super Chord Chart, and therefore I can’t really give any feedback other than I like the idea…
You do have to purchase the chord charts in addition.
Are you having problems getting to the chord chart page? It’s here http://www.worshipbackingband.com/chord-charts
We have two other customers who seem to be getting the home page when they go to this link. One is using Linux and Chromium but managed to get in using Firefox so maybe try changing browser if you’re not on something standard?
Let us know your browser and version as I’ll check the Magento forums to see if this is a common problem.
They are good, I bought the one for the free multitrack of Immanuel, it came with different chord charts for capo use. I highly recommend them, I don’t understand the hesitancy when the multitrack player and tracks are so good.
Keep up the good work.
Thanks Rob
Appreciate that. It’s always good to hear some positive feedback!
Love them so far, it has been a great addition and we look forward to more of them.
Howdy… The mouse over option to know what’s in the sample chord chart doesn’t work… Please advice, thank you… :0)
Hi Paul David
It’s working for me. Link is here http://musicademy.s3.amazonaws.com/CC00_sample.pdf
If it’s not working for you it’s probably that the software on your computer is not quite up to date.
To be honest, the content is pretty self explanatory – if you don’t understand any of the chart let us know.
