Dadd9(no 3rd) – add9 (no 3rd) chords can be used in place of major or minor chords but are a bit more ambiguous – I use them all the time!

E alt – I know this as a 1/2 diminished chord. It’s two minor 3rds and then a major 3rd stacked on top of each other. You can often use them in place of minor (or diminished) chords.
